What am I reading?

I typically read during my lunch breaks and have wanted to keep a record of what books I have read for quite a while now.  This will be my attempt to document them.

9-19-19 Michael Anderle – My Ride Is A Bitch (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 12)
Kindle Paperwhite

9-16-19 Michael Anderle – We Have Contact (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 11)
Kindle Paperwhite

9-9-19 Michael Anderle – Release the Dogs of War (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 10)
Kindle Paperwhite

9-4-19 Michael Anderle – It’s Hell to Choose (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 9)
Kindle Paperwhite

8-30-19 Michael Anderle – We Will Build (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 8)
Kindle Paperwhite

Kindle Paperwhite

8-20-19 Michael Anderle – Under My Heel (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 6)
Kindle Paperwhite
This books are small and easily digestible so I am reading this on on the kindle while still reading the SOA book on the iPad.

8-10-19 Elizabeth Haydon – Prophecy: Child of Earth (The Symphony of Ages Book 2)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini

7-10-19 Elizabeth Haydon – Rhapsody: Child of Blood (The Symphony of Ages Book 1)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
I’m trying out a new series

6-26-19 Michael Anderle – Never Forsaken (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 5)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
His writing is getting a little better and keeping me interested so far.

6-23-19 Michael Anderle – Bite This (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 4)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
The story is progressing but I am starting to lose my suspension of disbelief.  Everything is going too well and everybody is too perfect.

6-20-19 Michael Anderle – Love Lost (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 3)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
These books aren’t that big and are very fast reads.  I’m really enjoying them so far.  You can tell that they are self published as I have noticed several grammar mistakes and missing words.

6-17-19 Michael Anderle – Queen Bitch (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 2)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
I blew through the first book and am now on to the second.

6-15-19 Michael Anderle – Death Becomes Her (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 1)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
It’s a new take on Vampires and Werewolves and I’m hooked!

5-13-19 Jack Campbell –  Invincible (Beyond the Frontier #2)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
They are done killing other humans.  Now they are killing aliens.

4-15-19 Jack Campbell –  Dreadnaught (Beyond the Frontier #1)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
It looks like the same characters as The Lost Fleet but a new series.

4-8-19 Jack Campbell –  Victorious (The Lost Fleet #6)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
We went to Laughlin for the weekend so I had the chance to read on the way there.

4-5-19 Jack Campbell –  Relentless (The Lost Fleet #5)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
I can’t stop reading this series

3-29-19 Jack Campbell –  Valiant (The Lost Fleet #4)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini

3-22-19 Jack Campbell –  Courageous (The Lost Fleet #3)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
We went camping this weekend so I got plenty of reading time in after the Cub Scouts went to bed.

3-19-19 Jack Campbell –  Fearless (The Lost Fleet #2)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
Holy crap, the first one was awesome!  I’m now starting the second one.

3-15-19 Jack Campbell –  Dauntless (The Lost Fleet #1)
Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
It’s time to start a new series.  It is the same author that wrote the series that I just finished.

3-4-19 Jack Campbell –  The Wrath of the Great Guilds (Pillars Of Reality #6)
Kindle Paperwhite
It’s the final book and I’m expecting them to win but it should be interesting to see how they do it.

2-13-19 Jack Campbell –  The Servants of the Storm (Pillars Of Reality #5)
Kindle Paperwhite

1-25-19 Jack Campbell –  The Pirates of Pacta Servanda (Pillars Of Reality #4)
Kindle Paperwhite
The Daughter of Jules has recruited more Mages and Mechanics to her cause and it’s getting really interesting.

1-7-19 Jack Campbell –  The Assassins of Altis (Pillars Of Reality #3)
Kindle Paperwhite
The series keeps getting better so I keep reading them

12-17-18 Jack Campbell –  The Hidden Masters of Marandur (Pillars Of Reality #2)
Kindle Paperwhite
The 1st book was very good so I started on the 2nd one.

11-19-18 Jack Campbell –  The Dragons of Dorcastle (Pillars Of Reality #1)
Kindle Paperwhite
This is a 6 book series and looks very interesting so I am going to give the 1st book a try.

10-01-18 Ernest Cline – Ready Player One Kindle Paperwhite/iPad mini
I was somewhere with my iPad and not my kindle and it had this book on it so I decided to read it again.  I then finished it on my kindle.  Just as good the 2nd time.

09-15-18 Lee Child – The Midnight Line (Jack Reacher #21) Kindle Paperwhite
The last one was based on the time he was still in the army.  This one is set after that and the premise looks very promising.

09-11-18 Lee Child – Night School (Jack Reacher #21) Kindle Paperwhite
When the first Jack Reacher movie came out the promotional material said somewhere that it was based on the hit novels.  I looked up the series and read the 1st book and really liked it so I proceeded to read the next 19.  I recently found #21 & 22 so I am reading them on the kindle that I keep in my car.

09-7-18 Shawn Chesser – Soldier On (Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse) iPad mini
I finished the first one and it was pretty good so I am now working on the second one.

08-27-18 Shawn Chesser – Trudge (Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse)
I am not a big fan of watching Zombie movies or TV shows but give me a good Zombie apocalypse book and I am your man.  I read a couple of Zombie series last year and really enjoyed them.  This one is off to a good start and it looks like there are 13 books in the series so it should keep me busy for a couple of months.

08-01-18 Leo Frankowski – Copernick’s Rebellion
I downloaded this book on my iPad mini a few months ago and found myself with nothing else to read at lunch so I started this book.  It’s OK so far but nothing that I would recommend to anybody.

07-05-18 Patrick Rothfuss – The Wise Man’s Fear
I had to take my car in to the dealer to get fixed on the 3rd and took my kindle paper white ebook reader out of it for safe keeping.  It was so safe that I forgot to take it to work so I downloaded my copy of this book to my iPad mini and started reading it at lunch today.  I normally have a couple of books going at the same time but my 12 year old is using my backup sony ebook reader so I’ve only been reading one a time for the last few months.

05-30-18 James S. A. Corey – Persepolis Rising
I read all the other books in the Expanse series last year and really enjoyed them so I am excited to start this one.

05-01-18 Patrick Rothfuss – The Name of the Wind
This book has also been on my list for a long time.  I’m hoping that it is as good as the hype.
**This book was awesome and I can’t wait to read the next one.  I hope that he gets the 3rd one published in my lifetime.

04-24-18 Ernest Cline – Ready Player one
I have seen the movie already and finally have the time to read the book.
** I have finished the book and I shouldn’t be surprised, but it was so much better than the movie.  The movie had the same basic premise as the book but almost the entire plot was changed.  If I had read the book first then I am sure that I would have hated the movie.

04-05-18 Leo Frankowski – Kren of the Mitchegai
I debated on reading this one because the other books were getting a little formulaic and too much stuff seems to always go right for the good guys.  They very rarely lose.  They introduced a couple of alien species in this book, 1 for us to fight and 1 to help us.  The good guys are kinda boring but I am really liking the origin story of the Alien leader, Kren, and the back story of how their species functions.
**I have finished the book and really liked the back story and setup for the next book which will involve humans fighting the bad guy alien species.  I did a little research and it turns out that the author died before writing the 4th book.  I hate it when that happens.

03-25-18 Leo Frankowski – The War with Earth
More tanks, but this time they are fighting for independence from Earth.

03-11-18 Leo Frankowski – A boy and his tank
This is a new take on the classic fight war in the future with highly sophisticated tanks genre

02-28-18 Leo Frankowski – Lord Conrad’s Crusade
02-19-18 Leo Frankowski – Conrad’s Time Machine

Leo Frankowski – Conrad’s Quest for Rubber
Leo Frankowski – Lord Conrad’s Lady
Leo Frankowski – The Flying Warlord
Leo Frankowski – The Radiant Warrior
Leo Frankowski – High-Tech Knight
Leo Frankowski – Crosstime Engineer
