Last night was the opening for Knott’s Scary Farm. The line to get in was all the way back past Ghosrider but moved quickly. It started a little rough as they would not let me in the turnstile with my Scary Farm Season Pass. I had to follow a worker back to the ticket kiosk and we figured out that my Scary Farm Season Pass had linked to my son’s regular season pass instead of mine. They got it swapped over and I got into the park about 15 minutes later than I should have. I missed the opening witch show but that is always hard to see on the first night.

Once in the park, I headed to the right towards The Gauntlet as the majority of everyone else went left for the new mazes. The maze for that area, Chilling Chambers, had a really long line so I bypassed it and picked up my first Icee for the evening.

I spent the next 15 to 20 minutes walking The Gauntlet and hiding small glow in the dark ghosts in select locations. I am a member of the Knott’s Scary Farm Fans! facebook group and I posted updates in there as to the locations.

I hid the first 6 ghosts and then headed back to Chilling Chambers and got right in. Once I finished the maze, I put out 2 more ghosts and then entered the line for the first showing of The Hanging. I really enjoyed this year’s show and look forward to seeing it again next week.

After the show, I grabbed another Icee and headed to the south end of the park, near Ghostrider, to check out the 2 new mazes that were built for this year, MARY – THE HAUNTING OF WORTH HOUSE & THE ZOO. It was 9:00 pm by this point and the line for MARY was at least an hour long. I will be attending Scary Farm every Thursday for the next 7 weeks so I’m not too worried about catching all of the mazes tonight so I moved on over to THE ZOO which had a much shorter line. I was very impressed with this new maze and it had some really good set pieces and monster throughout. The last third of it really reminded me of another maze but I can’t place which one. Since I was in the area I also went through the Widows and Eight Fingers Nine mazes.

I then grabbed another Icee and headed over to the Birdcage Theatre to check on show times. I am a big fan of watching live magic shows and they have rotating performers every week. It was 9:55 pm by the time I got to the theatre and the next show started at 10:45 pm. I walked over to the Gore-ing 20’s area and got in line for the Room 13 maze. The exit for that maze drops you off in the arcade which is right next store to the shop that hosts the Into The Fog art show. I walked the art show admiring all of the pieces and then headed back to the Bird Cage Theatre for the magic show. I can’t remember the name of the magician but he had some good sleight of hand tricks and was very entertaining.

After the magic show, I went back to The Gauntlet and checked on my ghosts. I was very sad to see that all 8 were still in place. I picked up my forth and final Icee for the night and hid 3 more ghosts. I took a few more pictures and headed out of the park at 11:45 pm.

I was at the park for a little under 5 hours, drank 4 ICEES, and clocked in over 11,000 steps.
