I came across a TikTok video that had been posted to Facebook of somebody making Taco Stuffed Shells and cooking them in an air fryer. Once I watched the video, I knew that I had to try making them. You can find the original recipe and video here: https://abracashaba.com/taco-stuffed-shells-are-perfect-for-a-fiesta/
I boiled the shells according to the directions and set them on a cookie sheet to cool down.
I cooked 1 lb of ground beef with a packet of taco seasoning following the directions on the packet. I then put a spoonful of taco meat in a shell and topped it with some shredded cheese.
I took a second shell and wrapped it over the top of the filled shell. I then sprayed them with canola oil and sprinkled garlic salt on top. I was able to make a total of 21 wrapped shells.
I was able to fit 13 in the air fryer and I set it at 400° for 15 minutes.
While the first batch was cooking, I mixed half of a packet of taco seasoning into 16 oz of sour cream.
I took them out at the 15 minute mark and served them and they were delicious.
The first batch were a little too crispy for my taste so I cooked the second batch for 10 minutes and they were much easier to bite into.
